This animation resulted from an 8 week assignment in my Spring '24 MART 362 Animation Production class to create a story-driven animation called "The Button." It actually began with many of the same sophomore and junior level animation students from my Fall 23 MART 365 Animation Drawing class where students created scripts, storyboards and animatics for the story. We carried this over to finish in the spring. Given the rig (known as Manjack) they modeled the walls, button pedestal and electrodes, animated the character (partially using student created motion capture using our Neuron Perception mocap rig), created the lighting, rendered the scenes and edited the animation using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Premier. They also created the fire and lightning effects for the film in Photoshop.
