Marat the Mime Lip Synch Test
1280 x 720
Mixamo Fuse Basic, abAutoRig.mel, Maya, Mudbox, Mental Ray, Audacity, Premier CC 2014, Photoshop CC 2014
I created this character for my animation classes at Jacksonville University. This is a fully capable biped created with Mixamo's free Fuse Basic package combined with Autodesk's Maya and Mudbox, and Adobe Photoshop. I rigged this model for animation in Maya using abAutoRig.mel. Both the free and the premium versions of the script are available here.
The sound file is from the 1986 comedy Back To School. Paxton Whitehead and Sally Kellerman are the actors.
I used Mixamo's free Fuse Basic package to create the basic form for the head and body. I imported it into Maya to split up the single skin mesh into manageable parts. After UV mapping in Maya, I sent it to Mudbox to paint and sculpt details. I also sculpted blend shapes in Mudbox. I sent the mesh and blend shapes back to Maya to rig using abAutoRig.mel. After rigging, I painted weights and rigged the facial controls. This animation represents a test before I release it to my students to use.
